SHOUT TV is the creation of a group of concerned SEIU 1000 members who are dissatisfied with the lack of leadership and the wrong direction where our union is heading.

Due to the questionable conduct of current leaders and the culture of corruption, our union is divided, weak, and suffers from a progressive paralysis.  Our dues are spent without producing the results expected by members.  Members are inadequately represented and we have no real bargaining power.

Our union is divided between an elitist leadership and is at the verge of destruction.  The current leadership of our union is neither representing the union members nor responding to the constructive and justifiable criticism of members.  They continually fight the reformist members and refuse to respond to demands for transparency, accountability, and democracy.

Present leaders have turned our union into a dictatorship. The intended and promised, "1 member, 1 vote" does not exist in our union thus destroying the only path to a strong union.  Our dues are wastefully spent with no transparency and accountability.

Andy Stern, president of SEIU International, is systematically converting SEIU into a business/corporate entity by collaborating with employers and exploiting union members as a funding source to build a financial empire.  Our union, SEIU Local 1000, is a public sector union and must remain exclusively devoted to public sector employees.  SEIU is aiming to change that.  Despite our attempts to battle these efforts, at our most recent General Council your elected delegates voted to add private-sector members to Local 1000’s recruits.

We realized that without the devoted and dedicated intervention of members our weak and diseased union will leave us without any protection and we will dangerously end up defenseless and vulnerable to the attack of awaiting predators.

Our union is supposed to be, but no longer is, a "union of members, by members, and for members."  If we need and desire to have a strong union, we have no other option than to take our union back and establish democracy, transparency, and accountability. It is up to us as members to ROAR - Rise Organize And Reform, our union.

Without a united, strong, and respected union we cannot and will not be able to gain any respect from governor, therefore, we will not be able to obtain a meaningful and adequate contract.  Because of inadequate or nonexistent raises, we have been gradually losing our buying power to the ever-increasing cost of living.

In order to bring about a revitalizing and constructive change to our union we must elect a capable, strong, responsible, energetic, effective, diverse, and honest leadership team.

In the upcoming election, please cast your vote for the "ROAR 1000 - Rise Organize And Reform SEIU 1000" team.
