On September 25,2004, SEIU 1000's Council
authorized the restoration of lost State Service Credit for Jim Hard and
Cathy Hackett, which in simple terms it means purchase of 2.4 years of
retirement (state service credit) for Jim & Cathy. But, there
was no mention of
any compensation for the extra income tax that it would create.
Dishonest and crooked leaders, Jim
Hard & Cathy Hackett, took it upon themselves and
without any authorization from the council,
the delegates, and or the members, they provided authorization for each other
to take money from our union's treasury and pay for their extra income tax,
which was cause by receipt of $75,000.00 that SEIU 1000 Council had
granted them.
When they got caught, Jim Hard who had
taken over $5,000.00 refunded all of it back via a personal check made
to SEIU Local 1000. But Cathy Hackett who had taken over
$16,312.00, only refunded $5,637.00 of it and even as of today Cathy
Hackett has shamelessly kept over $10,000.00 of our money and has
refused to refund it.
Dear CalPERS members, Do you trust over
$200 Billion of CalPERS assets in control of Cathy Hackett?
